Tired Truths

“You look tired today”

That’s a sure way to say to a girl:  ‘You look like a monster with the black plague,‘ bags scarring your face; ‘You look different today,’  as though a changing exterior says something about who you are, about your worth, which doesn’t change, as it is found in the One who is constant, who remains the same regardless of the day or the face or age … the One who is worthy of all praise, who knows your true name, and calls you “Grace”, “Beloved”, “Son”, “Daughter” – not “Face”, “Tired”, “Appearance”, “Performance”.

See:
In tiredness is truth.

The slowing down of the world.
The vagueness of reality.
The breakthrough of light and sense.
The stimulation to waking wonder.

I haven’t put pen to paper for a while
Maybe thats why my mind runs a mile
I Sleep
but
I dream
and
They’re oriented in reality
Are they really dreams?
They’re extensions of me
Expansions of events
Un-lived
yet
They’re dreamt instead
Strange scenes
Driven by feelings and anonymity
Present yet presence
Strange things
Awareness
In a wave
When you’re washed into the sea
Swept up into a narrative that isn’t you
Your mind
A muse
Not truth

Ah, the mind
Ah, the muse
Ah, truth

The eyes, the lines
The tired mind

The eyes are silky underneath
A lack of sleep
Smoothed due to the tear drops
They soothed
They were temporal though
They didn’t last
They fell down,

like
water
from
a
flask

Wash away my mask
No smile
An exile

Just a child
Running for the Father

A million miles
Home
