by the words of this world.

listen to the Word that gives light

for he will give you the
treasure of darkness
and the hidden wealth
of secret places.

for he desires that you may
know him who calls you

who calls you into the
peace of his presence.

he speaks light into your story.

and
silences the darkness.

he opens the eyes
of the heart
to his story.

but can i go beyond the stars
to that even greater place
where the whisper is love

we need to listen to the whisper

i used to believe that the presence
of dark thoughts was the absence
of believing in the light. but my God
created darkness, He named it night.
and He speaks life into those places.

He separated light from darkness, He
formed light and sent it to shine. and
He gives us the treasures of darkness,
that in the secret places we may know
the way of peace. for there is peace in
His presence. and darkness is not the
absence of light. or of Him.

i see Jesus more clearly in the darkness.
for He has been through the darkest hour
and is with me in my dark hours. and He,
for the joy set before Him, endured the
Cross. He defeated the domain of darkness
and has brought us into a kingdom of Light,

This morning, my heart was thirsty. I wanted to know what God had to say about darkness. I know what He says about Light. But darkness? My morning searching led me to this discovery. The verse above. It hit me deep.
…
He GIVES us the the treasure of darkness? What?!
Darkness as treasure? What wealth is there in the dark?
…
He calls us into a secret place. His presence. Where he speaks light into being. Where he reveals to us his character, his love, his very heart. And there is treasure here.
And that means there is treasure in the darkness. All that is unseen, invisible to naked eye. All that we hope for in Christ. All that which is only brought to light by his Spirit of revelation.
He gifts us with the ability to find him, to know him, to see his hand at work, to discover the mystery of Christ. He gives us new eyes, new hearts in Christ.
He can give us the treasures of darkness because the darkness is HIS.
And more, Christ is our treasure, for he has defeated darkness once and for all!
