When I grow up I want to be… a reflector!

Are you enamoured with reflections?

They’re beautiful. They’re also engrained with a message of truth. Staring into a reflective surface and trying to see what’s underneath is almost impossible. Sometimes we can’t dig deep and discover the things that are hidden from us in life. Sometimes we’ve got to just look at what our lives have already reflected to us, and realise that we aren’t meant to know everything.

We can search for the answers, but sometimes it’s about having FAITH. Believing that there is more to life than what we can see, and just trusting that we are in the hands of a Creator who is all-knowing and loves us no matter whether we have a corruptive or inspiring ripple effect on others.

Some might think reflections are superficial- a mirror image that only copies the surface. Life is more than just appearances though. Reflections are beautiful because the mirror image doesn’t claim to be the original image. The mirror image only tries to replicate what the original mirror has shown them. So water, as a body which beautifully demonstrates this reflection, is like us as humans. We are not the authentic or ‘real’ mirrors of creation, or more specifically the Creator. However, we can look to our Creator and adopt His characteristics so that we look more and more like Him as the mirror images He has designed us to be.

We are called to be  reflectors.

Reflectors of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, humility, thankfulness, righteousness, salvation and hope. These virtues can be reflected to you and by you.

Do you want to be a reflector?

Reflectors (n.) reflect light in a required direction and cause a reflection.

You can reflect LIGHT to those in darkness,
Steer others toward VIRTUES of the King,

Cause a ripple effect in words and TRUTH,
& Be a reflection of BEAUTY

Let me encourage and challenge you with this final thought:
